Metallic reflective mesh
Knitted metallic mesh for large deployable (LDR) and wrappable reflectors, L- to Ka-band

Solutions
Each entry states what it is and how mature it is. Products are ready for qualification or supply; studies and PoCs are developments carried out with partners.

01 · Aerospace
We developed a metallic mesh with linear (flat-bed) knitting technology, ready for textile antenna reflectors operating from L- to Ka-band. It reached TRL 5 at component level. The characterisation loop covers textile mesh characterisation, a 2D digital twin, multi-band reflectivity assessment and KPI-driven design update.

Knitted metallic mesh for large deployable (LDR) and wrappable reflectors, L- to Ka-band

Flexible textile protective structure replacing rigid, partial covers

Knitted textile developed for microgravity garments

Multilayer protective garment concept for space radiation

Galactica Pioneer Acceleration Project 2021, funded under EU Horizon 2020

Textile tensegrity structures for lunar habitation modules
We are looking for antenna and reflector manufacturers integrating textile mesh, technical textile companies interested in co-development or licensing, and strategic partners to take the mesh from component to flight-ready product.

02 · Functional & Protective
Fabrics engineered for one dominant function and combined into garments with differentiated zones: each body area receives the protection or function it needs.

Lightweight, breathable; bioceramic radiative insulation

EN 388 cut level D to F and above; anti-piercing behaviour

Based on inherently flame-retardant materials

Multi-band shielding effectiveness (SE)

Modular approach with differentiated zone protection and function; shown at MILIPOL 2025

Modular approach, differentiated zone function

03 · Design & Acoustics
A double-bed 3D knitted structure absorbs sound in its thickness while keeping a printable, decorative face. The same know-how produces thermosetting panels that hold complex shapes.

3D sound-absorbing fabric for semi-rigid suspended panels

Thermoset knitted panels with integrated light

Knitted fabrics formed and set into complex 3D shapes

04 · Environment & Sustainability
Knitted biodegradable geotextiles support the regrowth of Posidonia oceanica meadows on the sea bed. Natural fibres added to a bioplastic skeleton tune the floating behaviour of the structure.

Biodegradable PBSA geotextile supporting Posidonia oceanica regrowth

Jute or coconut fibres added to a PBSA + quartz net skeleton (40/60 and 60/40) to improve floating behaviour
